Family-Style Sabbath School

Rationale: We are one church. We worship God together as one body. So why would we split into various age groups to learn about God? Why not seek to “Do Sunday School” in such a way that it builds the family and church together, instead of seeking to divide it apart? What if Sabbath School was set up so that the parents and children can learn together, and the parents can then easily reinforce the teaching throughout the week?

Approach: To achieve this end, we seek to establish a Sabbath School format that is equally involving of children of all ages, and also adults. Crucial to our growth in grace is knowing and understanding the Bible. We therefore presently do the following from 10am to 10:45:

10:00-10:05: Announcements and Prayer

10:05-10:10: Scripture memorization: singing our Psalm of the Month (Aug. 07-Psalm 1A)

10:10-10:25: Bible Story and lesson in simple terms
10:25-10:45 Adult discussion of “deeper” questions arising out of the lesson; youngest children do simple craft or activity related to the lesson, still in the room with adults.

Please consider joining with us. Bring your children (or your parents!) or come alone. Come see what the Lord is doing in and through our FAMILIES!
